What is Spiritual Direction?
- The Holy Spirit directs you by moving you deeply and leading you to a closer union with God.
- You may wish to share such experiences with a good listener who will do so in a non-judgmental way.
- By contacting the Lanteri Center, you will be put in touch with a 'prayer partner' who can teach you to pray with Scripture passages.
- Spiritual Directors are sympathetic listeners rather than problem solvers. They will help you to recognize and respond to God’s presence in your life.
- More experienced persons may choose to make the full Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola, personally directed in weekly interviews while continuing their usual activities.
- Prayerful persons may also seek spiritual direction while dealing with specific needs: discerning new faith experiences or facing a serious decision.
- Spiritual direction is a three-part encounter: God, the person being directed and the spiritual director, in communion with one another so that the person directed may grow in relationship with God.

Policy on Gifts and Offerings for Spiritual Direction
The Lanteri Center for Ignatian Spirituality is an independent non-profit organization with no financial subsidies from the Archdiocese of Denver or the Oblates of the Virgin Mary. The Lanteri Center exists to make spiritual direction more available to men and women in the Metro Denver area. We want it understood that no one will be refused spiritual direction because of an inability to make a donation.
Nevertheless, we have determined that, in order to function, we must bring in about $50 per session of spiritual direction. We hope that most people will support us to this extent. We understand, however, that some cannot afford this. We do ask that you give what you can. Here are some ways you can contribute to the ongoing work of the Lanteri Center for Ignatian Spirituality:
* A "per session" donation.
* An annual contribution. We will be sending out an annual appeal to friends and benefactors of the Center.
* A gift of your time and talent. The Center is in need of numerous volunteers in a number of different capacities.
Please note that your spiritual director will not accept any monies directly. Leave your contribution in the donation box located in the waiting room, or mail it in. Please make all checks payable to the Lanteri Center for Ignatian Spirituality. The Center will be happy to provide a letter of acknowledgement for tax-deduction purposes. Please let us know if you will be needing such a letter.
Above all, we ask for your prayers for this important ministry! Thank you for your generosity.
