Mission

The Lanteri Center Mission

This is the will of God, your holiness... (1 Th 4:3)

Rooted in the traditions of Ignatius of Loyola and Pio Bruno Lanteri (Founder of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary), the Lanteri Center for Ignatian Spirituality fosters growth in holiness through the ministry of spiritual direction. By teaching, contemplative listening, and careful discernment, we strive to lead men and women to a deeper experience of the Father’s merciful love. The Lanteri Center seeks to assist “all who are called to belong to Jesus Christ” (Romans 1:6) in prayerful reflection upon God’s Word in the Living Tradition of the Church.

The Lanteri Center for Ignatian Spirituality seeks to provide:

♦ spiritual direction for men and women throughout the Metro Denver area
♦ formation in the art and ministry of spiritual direction
♦ experiences of spiritual direction and praying with God’s Word at the parish level

Is This For You?

Spiritual Direction

Anyone desirous of growing in their relationship with God through prayer and regular meetings with a spiritual director can contact the Lanteri Center for Ignatian Spirituality and meet with the person responsible for the initial interview.  The Oblates of the Virgin Mary (and others who have received recognized formation) are available to those seeking spiritual direction.

Formation Programs

Those who have experienced the dynamics of the full Spiritual Exercises either in the 30-Day format or in Daily Life (19th Annotation) and have discerned, with their present spiritual director, a call to become a spiritual director may submit an application to our formation programs.  Our formation programs will take place in three stages over a five year period:

1. The first two years (Prayer Partnering Program) will provide formation in companioning another person in praying with the Word of God.
2. The 3rd and 4th years will focus on preparing candidates to lead others in the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius of Loyola with special attention to the Exercises in Daily Life (19th Annotation).
3. The 5th year of formation will concentrate on Ongoing Spiritual Direction, that is, companioning a more mature pray-er on his or her journey with the Lord.

Parish Outreach

Parishes in the Greater Denver Area may request that a team of spiritual directors provide them with the opportunity to learn to pray with the Word of God and experience briefly what spiritual direction is. The staff of the Lanteri Center would co-ordinate this service in conjunction with the pastor and his parish council.

Church Affiliation

The Lanteri Center for Ignatian Spirituality is rooted in the Roman Catholic tradition; however our doors are open to Christians of others churches and communities who desire to walk and share in this precious ministry offered by the Holy Spirit to all followers of the Lord Jesus.
