September 5-13, 2008 8-day Ignatian Retreat in Crestone, Colorado. Experience the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola with the spiritual directors of the Lanteri Center during an eight-day retreat at the Nada Hermitage in Crestone, CO. During this individualized, directed retreat you will meet with your spiritual director once a day to explore your unique experience of God's presence in your prayer, reflection, discernment, reading and the simple silence of your solitude. Mass, Reconciliation and brief talks will be offered daily in the chapel.
October, 2008 - May, 2009 Spiritual Exercises in Daily Life - For those who cannot get away for an extended period of time in a retreat house, this is an opportunity to make the full Ignatian Exercises in the midst of your regular routine. You will pray for at least one hour per day over a period of roughly thirty weeks. You will be assigned a retreat director whom you will meet with on a weekly basis at a time that is convenient for both of you. Your director will assign you prayer material and you will process your experience of God in prayer with your director in one-to-one meetings. The cost of the retreat is $100 per month or whatever you can afford. Please contact Fr. October 17-19, 2008 Obtaining Purity of Heart Workshop with Fr. Andrew Miles, OSB. A weekend workshop that explores the following themes: Purity of Heart in the Sacred Scriptures and in the early monastic tradition of the Desert Fathers and Mothers; Purity of Heart through prayer and contemplation of the Word of God; Purity of Heart and the mystery of the Cross and sacrificial love; Purity of Heart through the Holy Spirit, Spirit of Truth and Spirit of Holiness. Individuals who desire to grow in prayer with scripture, spiritual directors, and all who teach prayer with scripture will benefit from the counsel in this workshop. Friday evening from 7-9 PM. Saturday and Sunday from 9:30AM to 3:30 PM, with breaks for lunch on your own. We will conclude Sunday with Mass at 4PM.
Fr. Andrew Miles, OSB is a Benedictine monk of Our Lady of Guadalupe Abbey in Pecos, NM. In 1967 he obtained his licentiate in Sacred Scripture from the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome. He later studied at the Ecole Biblique in Jerusalem. He served as Abbot in Pecos from 1992-1997. He is an accomplished retreat master and teacher of the ministry of spiritual direction. He is also the author of numerous articles published by Dove Publications, Pecos, NM.

You will be accompanied by a personal spiritual director. The retreat will begin at 7:00 PM on Friday evening with a opening meeting and a guided meditation to launch you into prayer. You will then meet with your director on each of the subsequent days and he/she will suggest themes for prayer and help you to process your experience of God in prayer. Mass and reconciliation will be available on Saturday and Sunday. Accomodations and meals will be provided buy the Loretto Spirituality Center Staff. February 25 - April 5, 2009 Armchair Retreat, "In you own home or apartment." This will be an opportunity to learn to pray with the Word of God with the guidance of a spiritual director, and to live a short experience of spiritual direction. You will be asked to commit yourself seriously to praying with the Word of God for 30 minutes each day for a six week period. You will then meet with your personal spiritual director once a week during this period of time.
The retreat will begin with a group meeting, which must be attended, in the early afternoon, on Sunday, February 3, 2008 at the Lanteri Center and will conclude on Passion Sunday, March 16, 2008. March 13-15, 2009 Ignatian Prayer: Meditation and Contemplation Workshop with Fr. Timothy Gallagher, OMV. The cornerstones of Ignatius of Loyola’s spiritual practice—meditation and contemplation - will be explored according to the Ignatian method with examples from the experience of practitioners and Catholic spiritual teachers. In the process, the deeper structure of the spiritual practice is illuminated, and advice about adapting it to individual needs is offered. Topics include methods of praying, struggles and growth, and the importance and role of grace. Individuals who desire to grow in prayer with scripture, spiritual directors, and all who teach prayer with scripture will benefit from the counsel in this workshop. Friday evening from 7-9 PM. Saturday and Sunday from 9:30AM to 3:30 PM, with breaks for lunch on your own. We will conclude Sunday with Mass at 4PM.
Timothy M. Gallagher, OMV, is considered to be one of the greatest interpreters of the spirituality of Ignatius of Loyola. He is a popular retreat leader, an Ignatius scholar, and a lecturer. He is the author of The Discernment of Spirits: The Ignatian Rule for Everyday Life, The Examen Prayer, and An Ignatian Introduction to Prayer. He lives in Boston, Massachusetts.
